Clinical philosophy

How I work

A calm, consultant-led approach built around clear explanations and proportionate care.

Introduction

The best plan starts with a clear understanding of the problem and of what matters to you. I take time to listen, review the evidence and explain the practical options.

My approach

  • Questions are answered in plain language.
  • Tests are recommended only when they are likely to change a decision.
  • You remain in control of whether and when to proceed.

“My aim is not simply to identify a diagnosis. It is to give you a plan that is medically sound, understandable and right for your circumstances.”

What patients can expect

Your appointment is consultant-led. We will review your history, symptoms and available investigations, explain the options in plain language, and agree a clear next step that reflects your priorities.

Where further testing or treatment may be useful, we will explain why it is being considered, what it can and cannot tell us, and the reasonable alternatives. You can take time to consider important decisions.

Questions I encourage

What are we trying to find out? What would change if we had more information? What are the alternatives?

FAQ

Will I be asked to make a decision during the consultation?

Not necessarily. Important decisions can be considered at your own pace once the options are clear.
